Seeking thoughts: Tell me, what lights your fire. I really want to know what brings an individual (maybe a group?) happiness. I know it is something different for everyone. Please tell me:
“What gives/brings you joy?”
One thing that brings me joy is surfing.
Here is one from transfered from the front page:
“Dancing, playing in clay, sailing down a hill on my bike, gardening all day long with Greg, cooking for a crowd, finding a really cool way to look at numbers.”

Here are a couple joy thoughts that came through Facebook:
KCB – while @ Dland this summer…watching my girls walking away to go to the park together (no mom & dad) and laughing and enjoying each other just because they were…
TC – Mary = “joy”
EM – “JOY for me, right now, are little girls talking softly and laughing out loud.”
This is Sophia & gymnastics gives me joy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joy is so many things.
The smell of my kids. Their REAL smell, the one that lingers on their pillows and gets left behind on their toys.
The sound of my husband laughing when he’s making his own jokes just to make me laugh too.
The perfect light coming in, diffuse, warm, with a hint of color tinted by a sunset.
My grandpa’s hands giving me a hug. Complete with twisted arthritic knuckes, psoriasis skin, and discolored nail beds…the same hands that used to “pick me up by my ears” when I was 4 years old, beat me at backgammon when I was 15 years old, and the same ones that hold my kids on his lap when we visit him now.
Joy is having friends who remind you of the everyday joys all around.

my joy is life. Joy in my most recent trip, was seeing my daughter river raft, try wake boarding, laughing hysterically when she should be sleeping. I found joy seeing my friend experience Nirvana on a surf board. I felt joy when our 2 families just hung out too. That trip and its memories will give me joy for a long time.

What a great question! My family provides so much joy and it is always the simple things. Watching my kids squeal over found treasures at the beach and laughing at all of the unexpected things that they say. I love when my husband walks through the door at the end of the day. I love everything about the beach, the sound of the waves crashing, the smell of the salty air, the sand underneath my feet. These are my joys.
Jelly Joe brought us joy. I read it to my children and my 4 year old daughter was so inspired that she wants to write her own book. How wonderful is that?? She is going to tell me the story so I can write it for her and she is going to draw the pictures. I can’t wait!

I find joy when sitting around a kitchen table with my family. I enjoy listening to other people talk and tell stories. I enjoy dancing with my friends. I love when it is so warm I can feel the sun through my clothes. I find joy in laughing so hard my stomach hurts. I enjoy hearing my grandpa stand up and speak. I enjoy animals, enchalatas, the smell of clean laundry, BBQ ribs, down comforters and driving my car
